电影中，一个雨天，8岁的素媛独自撑伞上学。在学校附近，她遇到一个淋雨的大叔请求共伞。尽管犹豫过，善良的素媛还是不忍心看他淋雨，便上前帮忙。然而，这份善意却让她被诱骗至偏僻处，遭受了极其残酷的性暴力，身心受到毁灭性重创。

In the film, on a rainy day, eight-year-old So-won walks to school alone, holding an umbrella. Near the school, she encounters a man caught in the rain who asks to share her umbrella. Although she hesitates, the kind-hearted So-won cannot bear to see him getting wet, so she steps forward to help. However, this act of kindness leads to her being lured to a secluded spot, where she suffers extremely brutal sexual violence, leaving her physically and mentally devastated.
These words were the heartfelt confession she made to her teacher during a psychological rehabilitation session, after having suffered such profound physical and emotional trauma.
素媛的善良是纯粹的，她只是遵循了“应该给淋雨的大叔撑伞”这个朴素的想法。这份天性使然的善良，却成了她被伤害的“原因”，构成了最残酷的讽刺。
比性侵更令人心寒的，是来自社会的二次伤害。媒体的大肆报道让受害者家庭暴露在公众视野下。而“人们都说是我的错，谁也不夸我”这句童言，更是直指一种可怕的“受害者有罪论”。这种来自社会的冷漠指责，是比身体创伤更深的痛。
素媛的困惑“我是不是做错什么了？”背后，是她对世界认知的彻底崩塌。一个本应在爱中成长的孩子，却过早地见识了极致的恶，并对支撑她行为的“善良”产生了根本性的怀疑。
当一个善良的行为没有得到保护，反而招致灾难时，我们该去质问行善者“为什么这么不小心”，还是去谴责施暴者“为何如此残忍”？
So-won’s kindness was pure; she was simply acting on the simple notion that ‘one should hold an umbrella over a man caught in the rain’. Yet this innate kindness became the very ‘reason’ she was harmed, constituting the cruelest irony.
What is even more chilling than the sexual assault itself is the secondary harm inflicted by society. The media’s sensationalist coverage thrust the victim’s family into the public eye. And the child’s innocent remark, ‘Everyone says it’s my fault; nobody praises me’, cuts straight to the heart of a terrifying ‘victim-blaming’ mentality. This cold, accusatory judgement from society inflicts a pain deeper than any physical trauma.
Behind So-won’s bewilderment—‘Did I do something wrong?’—lies the complete collapse of her understanding of the world. A child who should have grown up surrounded by love was instead exposed far too early to the depths of evil, leading her to harbour fundamental doubts about the ‘kindness’ that underpinned her actions.
When a kind act goes unprotected and instead invites disaster, should we question the do-gooder, asking ‘Why were you so careless?’, or should we condemn the perpetrator, asking ‘Why were you so cruel?’
